Thousands of images capture the creations of 100 contemporary artists from the Americas and beyond, all of whom have developed projects at the Experimental Workship.

TRADITIONAL CULTURES
Images of body painting and adornment from different cultures in Africa, Asia, America and Oceania.

DOCUMENTARIES
Films range from the intricate process of body painting at Cuerpos Pintados to videos from all over Africa and an impressive study by Alix Lambert that documents tattooing in Russian prisons.

PATAGONIA
Remarkable photographs of the painted bodies of the Selknam, taken in 1923 during an initiation ceremony in a snow-covered region of Patagonia.

PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE BODY
Images captured by photographers from different corners of the globe that present radical interventions on the body, as well as natural changes produced by the passage of time.

BOOKS
More than 100 titles printed in different formats document Cuerpos Pintados’ principal projects. The collection includes investigations of historical and anthropological nature that have been carried out within the framework of the program.

BODY MUSIC
Music composed with just one instrument: the human body. Talented composers from different countries accepted this unprecedented challenge.

HYPERREALISTIC SCULPTURE
A dozen striking sculptures, such as the popular ‘Tunick’s Little Old Granny’, placed strategically in the Tent/Museum, will surprise visitors.

LIVE BODY PAINTING
Cuerpos Pintados presents a series of live performances of body painting, dance and music. Please check our site to see the schedules.
