Brazil (1931- )
Participated CP 1992 This artist studied Design at the Museum of Modern Art of Sao Paulo, Graphic Arts at the Parson School of Design, and Typography at the American Institute of Graphic Arts in New York. He continued his artistic formation in Paris at the printmaking studio of Johnny Friedlander and the Academy of the Grande Chaumiere. His work belongs to the school of Brazilian neo-figuration, to which he has added a touch of magical realism. He makes series that mix different techniques: drawing, printmaking, installation and video. At the Experimental Workshop, he covered the surface of his models bodies with thick layers of organic materials. The model seems to have emerged from the mud, as a renewed vision of the origins of life. |
