Participated CP 1992, 1998, 1999 Berney studied Art at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Milton Avery Graduate School at Bard College. Her work has evolved from a figurative style that depicted women as sexual objects to abstract compositions on paper that she herself made. At the Experimental Workshop, Berney presented a dozen models painted with elements that alluded to the woman as a fantasy object, adding personalized symbols that reaffirmed that reality. |
