Panama (1963- )
Participated CP 1997 Díaz studied at the School of Fine Art at the National University of Panama and at the University of Chitré, also in Panama. His paintings create an optical world inhabited by beings from a personal bestiary that recalls childhood memories and fantasies. He covers his canvasses with thick, multi-layer surfaces of paint which he then scratches, marks with a spatula, or enhances with additional layers, depicting the baseness of a torturous world. At the Experimental Workshop, he painted the models with a specially textured material that allowed him to produce unexpected results. |
