Born in Buenos Aires in 1937, Luis Fernando Benedit studied Architecture at the National University of Buenos Aires and Landscape Design in Rome. In the 1970s, he joined the CAyC group, directed by art critic Jorge Glusberg. Benedit was one of the first conceptual artists in Argentina, producing work that aimed at creating a social language and at being a means to learn more about man. His drawings, paintings, objects and installations are visual social criticisms of his country and Latin America. He has exhibited at important museums in South America, the United States and Europe, and at the Biennials of Venice, Sao Paulo, Havana and Sydney. For the Buenos Aires project, he painted Nazarena Amaya, a dancer at the Maipo Theater who has performed in numerous shows: Show de Musica y Teatro, Viva la Revista, Pinti Canta las 40 y el Maipo Cumple 90, among others.
