Colombia (1926- )
Participated CP 1994 Fernández studied at the Academy of Fine Art of the University of Costa Rica, at the National University in Bogotá, and at the Academy of Fine Art in Florence, Italy. Her work has evolved from a dreamlike figuration, to realism and then to a personal form of expressionism. Her topics are varied: female portraits, war, and Oriental cultures, among others. At the Experimental Workshop, Fernández painted faces on the torso of her models and also projected her own paintings onto a scenario of bodies set against a neutral background. |
