Born in Buenos Aires in 1949, Ernesto Bertani studied Sculpture and Painting at the studios of Leonardo Dominguez and Victor Chab. His hyperrealist style transmits messages of highly elaborate rhetoric through simple visual elements that blend irony and lucidity. He has exhibited his work at Galería 9 in Lima, Galería Arteaplicada in Sao Paulo, Casa de las Americas en Havana, and the Sivori Museum in Buenos Aires. For the Buenos Aires project he painted Fernanda Torresi, a ballerina who has performed with distinction in numerous theatrical productions, ranging from classical ballet to music hall. Torresi has also appeared in several television programs in Argentina: and Fernando Pellicioli, who is a member of the Contemporary Ballet Company of the General San Martin Theater. Pellicioli has also performed in shows within the framework of the independent dance movement in Buenos Aires.
