Chile (1956- )
Participated CP 1996 Banderas attended the Escuela Experimental Artística and studied Art at the Catholic University in Santiago, where he received a degree in Printmaking. He then took a seminar in Printmaking Techniques given by Eugenio Téllez. His work, which is within the realm of New Figuration, alternates between painting, drawing and printmaking. Banderas, with subtle irony, creates interiors inspired in personal experiences from his own childhood and youth. The inhabitants and the objects in his works seem to question the almost intrusive stare of the spectator. At the Experimental Workshop, Banderas worked with color, achieving scenes imbued with a singular sense of play. |
