Born in La Plata, Argentina in 1966, Andrés Compagnucci studied Audiovisual Communications at the National University of La Plata; Drawing and Painting with Carlos Pacheco; and won a scholarship from the Proa Foundation to attend the Guillermo Kuitca Workshop. His painting represents the habitat and habits of people today, through images of vehicles, machines and other objects that reveal it. He has exhibited at the Recoleta Cultural Center in Buenos Aires; Salon Cultural Rivadavia in La Plata; and at the National Museum of Fine Art in Buenos Aires. For the Buenos Aires project, he painted Gabriel Sordi, a dancer who has belonged to the Ballet Company of the Teatro Argentino in La Plata, the Argentine Ballet, directed by Julio Bocca, and has performed recently in music hall productions.
