Born in Buenos Aires in 1947, Ana Eckell studied at the Manuel Belgrano and the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National Schools of Fine Art. Her work severely denounces the excesses of power, the conditions of the marginal and the abandoned, and societys frivolity. She has held individual exhibitions at the Edison Gallery in The Hague; William Lamb Gallery in Los Angeles; The National Museum of Fine Art in Buenos Aires; and the Catholic University Cultural Center in Lima, among others. She has been invited to the Biennials of Paris, Sao Paulo, Cuenca, Venice, and Mercosur in Porto Alegre. For the Buenos Aires project, Eckell painted Federico Lynch, a dancer who has performed in numerous musicals, with Enrique Pintis company, and in various television productions in Argentina.
